Progression into the Stars
There is no main base to the Psionics Network, nor are there any leaders. It’s more like a community of psionic users have managed to find out about one another and support each other. Although there are no leaders or headquarters there is still a sort of hierarchy in place. Starting at the lowest level one will find a Planetary Node. These will be, obviously, on planets. On any given planet one might find any number of nodes (or none at all), although commonly each planet will have one node on it. If a planet contains multiple Planetary Nodes then only one will be designated as the PPN. Furthermore, every node on planet will only be in contact with two other nodes (if there are at least three).
Moving up the ladder will be a System Node. This will usually be located on the most prominent planet of any particular system, on small population planets (usually in less-traveled systems) the System Node will also be the Planetary Node for that planet. Each PPN in system will not be in contact with any other PPN except for the System Node (which will undoubtedly be a PPN). In small systems it may occur that even though there are multiple inhabited planets some planets will not have a Planetary Node and their resident psionics will contact the System Node directly. In larger systems there may be a second, perhaps even a third, System Node. In this case each planet in system will be assigned to one of the System Nodes. That way no PPN will be in contact with two different System Nodes.
Next will be the Sector Nodes. Similar to the System Node to Planetary Node relationship, Sector Nodes will be in contact with every System Node in their sector, with the exception of systems with multiple System Nodes. When this occurs one of the System Nodes is designated the PSN and the Sector Node will only contact that System Node for that system. Unlike with the PPNs(Primary Planetary Nodes) System Nodes within a sector will also be in contact with one other System Node (with the exception of systems with multiple System Nodes then each of the System Nodes in system will be in contact with one another). Then similar to the System Node to System Node relationship, each Sector node will be in contact with one other Sector Node.
